Party Tips: The 'rule of thumb' is that 40-50% of those you invite to a party will attend the event. Guests tend to cluster into small groups, so arrange tables and chairs into conversation areas. Your choice of music will greatly effect the outcome of your party. Some parties do well with only background music, others prefer a DJ that can help you carry your guests from one activity to the next. Print a 'List of Events' for each guest to receive upon arrival, to give them something to look foward to during your party. Provide 'door prizes' or small wrapped gifts at intervals to surprise your guests! Be sure to have simple but great tasting food. Hiring a caterer can be one of your best investments, especially if you want to enjoy your own party. Also, consider hiring a bartender who can serve all the beverages you provide, whether it is tea, punch, or mixed drinks. Prepare as much as you can ahead of time, so you will not feel too stressed on the day of your event! Try to delegate some of your work load so you are free for the smaller details.
